Good evening, this is Angela Brown, Principal of Nokomis Regional Middle School. I am calling to remind families that our Spring open house nights are this Wednesday, April 5th from 3-7 and Thursday, April 6th from 3-6:30.Families with students in grades 5-7 are welcome to come visit the staff and classrooms on either night. 8th grade teachers have established a conference schedule in order to discuss the high school classes for next year so there are set times for each 8th grade student/family. If you need a time, please reach out to your 8th grade child's homeroom teacher. We will also have lost and found items available for parents to go through if their child is missing anything. Those items are located in the main hallway near the gym.We hope to see you on one of the open house nights this week! Have a great evening!
Attention NRMS families-All after school activities have been canceled. All students should be going home at the end of the day today, 3/2/23.
Attention NRMS Families; As you are probably aware, tomorrow, Friday, Feb. 3rd is going to be extremely cold so it's crucial that students dress in warm clothing. They will NOT be going outside at all, however, they will need all skin covered as they travel into the building in the morning and out of the building at the end of the day. Hats, mittens, face coverings, jackets, shoes/boots/sneakers, and dressing in layers would be considered necessities in weather as cold as this. Thank you in advance for your attention to this very important weather safety alert.
Attention NRMS 7th Grade Parents/Caregivers: The 7th grade students will be visiting the Challenger Learning Center in Bangor next week. Information about this this field trip went out a couple of weeks ago and is at no cost to students. If you have any questions, please reach out to your child's homeroom teacher.
The schedule is by homeroom and is as follows:
Jan. 23rd- Mrs. Barboza (a.m.) & Mr. Robinson (p.m.)
Jan. 24th- Mrs. Neal (a.m.) & Mrs. Dutil (p.m.)
Jan. 25th- Mrs. Chapman-Nile (a.m.) & Mrs. Bosse (p.m.)
Jan. 26th- Mr. Rodgers (a.m.) & Miss Dyer (p.m.)
We'd also like to extend a big thank you to Mr. Goody Gilman for sponsoring this field trip for our 7th grade students!
Attention NRMS families- In mid-January, the middle school students will be taking a health survey sponsored by the Maine Department of Health and Human Services. An information letter is being sent home today with students and is also linked in this text. Parents can choose to opt their child out of the survey by signing and returning the letter by Jan. 13th. You only need to send the letter back if you do NOT want your child to take the survey. Call Mrs. Perry, our Health teacher, if you have any questions.

Attention NRMS parents-Parent pick up dismissal change
Starting on Monday, January 24th, we are going to be dismissing ALL parent pick up students at 2:15. Previously, we dismissed by towns, but we are no longer going to dismiss that way. We are hoping this will keep the traffic moving and alleviate the congestion on the Williams Rd. Also, please pick your child up as close to the sidewalk as possible so students aren’t meandering through the cars. Thank you in advance for your attention to this change!
